The way out is in you

Has life thrown you right in front of the giant Goliath or the raging Red Sea? Are there invisible mountains or obstacles in your way that are preventing you from making the next move towards your destiny? God desires that you run confidently to your giant and slay it with the weapons He has given you. God wants you to trust Him to take you through whatever trials you may be going through. Today I want to draw your attention to the weapons within you that you can employ to overcome whatever obstacle or mountain you may be facing.

We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously.
1 Corinthians 10:13 TPT

The Bible says no test or temptation allowed into our life by the Lord is beyond us, except that which is common.  We have a faithful God who will never let us go through any trials or temptations that we cannot overcome. For whatever challenges you experience, you can be confident that you will always win with God on your side. Trials are never meant to consume us or finish us off, but they are designed to bring out the best in us. It is reassuring to know that I will overcome no matter what I face because God is on my side.

Trust your tools

Before God sends you on a journey, He’s already provided you with the power to overcome every obstacle. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground (Exodus 14:15-16 NLT). When Moses was faced with the Red Sea and didn’t know what to do, God gently rebuked him for crying out to Him because God had already given him the tool (staff) to overcome every obstacle and opposition before he embarked on his journey. All the miracles he performed with his staff in Egypt was a testimony that the Lord was with Him, and He can do anything.  Do you realise that God didn’t lift a finger to part the sea? He just told Moses to raise his staff over the sea! God knew before He sent the Israelites on the detour path that they will have to cross the Red Sea. Whatever assignment the Lord has given you, He already knows all the obstacles awaiting you. He is omniscient, the only all-knowing God.

The Israelites could have gone to Canaan through a short route, as the bible says and not really encounter the power of God, but our all-knowing God, who knows the beginning from the end, knew they needed to go through the Red Sea to strengthen their faith and trust in Him. As much as we will want to pray our mountains and oppositions away, God doesn’t take the mountains away. Mountains are necessary for our growth as they are designed to launch us into the version of us we haven’t encountered yet.

Chat with Him

You may be familiar with the story of Daniel and the lion’s den. Daniel’s colleagues were jealous of him and plotted against him. Daniel utilised a powerful weapon (prayer), and that is what grew his faith and confidence in God and enabled him to pray boldly in the full view of his accusers. Daniel was the only person courageous enough to worship God despite the opposition. The fear of being thrown into a lion’s den could have stopped Daniel from praying, and he would have been justifiably right, but Daniel had an insight that his enemies were oblivious of. He knew of a powerful God who could save his children from every form of destruction. Our faithful and never-failing God did Daniel justice and shut the lions’ mouth. When God delivered Daniel from the lions, this is what ensued:  King Darius published this proclamation to every race, colour, and creed on earth: Peace to you! Abundant peace! I decree that Daniel’s God shall be worshiped and feared in all parts of my kingdom. Daniel must have spent time in God’s presence and receiving the revelation of God’s deliverance and salvation. Daniel 6:25-27.

His accusers set up Daniel, but God used that for His name to be glorified in all the kingdoms. If Daniel had succumbed to the fear around him and refused to worship God, he would have lost his faith and himself and forced to worship a statue that had no meaning to him. By his faith and trust in God, he turned a whole kingdom over to God. God will use whatever opposition thrown at you to bring about redemption and glory you can never imagine.

The right source

When a car battery goes flat, it cannot recharge itself, but it will need another car or jump starter with a higher battery power level to be plugged into to recharge the car. Like your car, you need to be plugged into the right source of power to overcome whatever obstacle you may be facing. Sometimes all you need is the right message or word to kick-start the faith you already have in you. The Lord has given you a measure of faith you have the capacity for, and it’s already in you. As you read His word and spend time with Him in worship, He recharges your faith and power by the Holy Spirit for the assignment ahead. ‘He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.’ Isaiah 40:29. In this season, plug into the right source of power, a source that can push you into the faith level needed to overcome and go through any Red Sea situation.

It is in you

What is going on in your life that may seem like an impossible situation you need to overcome? Today I want to challenge you to look within yourself. The widow of Zarephath had the oil and flour the whole time, but she only had faith to eat it once and die. But when Elijah stepped in and strengthened her faith, the meagre amount turned into a lifetime supply of food for her and her family (1 Kings 17:7-16). What have you got in your hand that you are discarding its value? What has God given you that you haven’t realised could be the solution to your obstacle? Moses had his rod, but he undervalued the power in it when he was faced with his Red Sea. There’s a well laid out plan for every mountain sent your way on how you will overcome it. You have to dig in a bit more to find it. That will mean spending more time with your Father and asking in faith for revelation and power to overcome it.

In October 2019, I studied a course required for work and failed the exams at the end of the course. I was so disappointed in myself, and I was dreading how I would study again for a resit. The Lord was faithful; He gave me strength and faith that I will pass my resit during a time of prayer. He even surrounded me with work colleagues who helped me prepare for the resit. When the time came for the resist, I was filled with so much confidence from the Lord. I wrote the exams three months later when the results came through the post, and I had passed! The Lord is good, and He will use anything to bring Him Glory. I am grateful to the Lord for this, and I believe if He has done it for me, He will do even more for you.

I pray that out of his glorious riches; He may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being today. In Jesus Name!

May you be filled with the Fullness of God and the Power of His Love!
