Introduction
The final candle of Advent is love — a flame that reminds us of the heart of the Father who gave His only Son. Love is not just a word; it’s the very nature of God and the essence of Christmas.
Reflection
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” — John 3:16
Love, a deep affection toward another person, took on human form at Christmas and came to dwell among us. Whether you feel it or not, know this for certain: the great love of Abba Father is oozing from heaven all over you, and He says,
“I love you people with a love that will last forever. I became your friend because of my love and kindness”
Jeremiah 31:3

There is a God who loves you deeply and seeks your good. Even when you can’t see it, even when all seems against you, His love continuously weaves through your story above and beyond your understanding.
In my own life, I’ve battled with feeling unworthy of love. But when I encountered the big-heartedness and tender embrace of the Father, it changed my story. I realised His love for me surpasses every earthly love. I am loved completely, even when I forget, I return to my Father for a refill, and He makes me whole again.
Scripture Reading
1 John 3
Family Reflection
- What keeps me from feeling the oozing love of God?
- Who in our lives needs a reminder of the Father’s love?
Food for Thought
Love began with God. It was born in a manger, lived among us, and gave itself fully at the cross. The story of Christmas doesn’t end at the manger — it continues in us. This Christmas, receive that love — and let it overflow to those around you.
Family Activity:
Light four candles on Christmas Eve, one for each Advent theme: Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. As you light each one, pray a simple prayer of thanks for what God has given you this season.
