WEEK ONE — HOPE: God’s Promise and Pursuit

Introduction

Advent begins with hope — a deep expectation that God will bring to pass what He has promised. From creation to the manger, God’s heart has always been for His children to walk closely with Him. As we journey toward Christmas, we remember that our hope is in the person born in a manger.

Reflection

From the beginning, God desired an intimate relationship with His creation. His love brought light into our darkness and hope into a weary world. Joy came at Christmas in the form of a baby — Jesus — to draw us close to the Heavenly Father who first loved us and chose us before the foundation of the earth.

Christmas unveils what was hidden for ages: a loving Father chasing after His children. Through Jesus, the veil was torn so that we could see the heart of God — one filled with compassion, forgiveness, and endless love.

The joy of Christmas is here indeed!

Even when life feels uncertain, when prayers seem unanswered, God is still at work behind the scenes, turning every situation around for good.

  • Where do you see God’s hand at work in your story this year?
  • What promise from God do you need to hold onto this week?

Food for Thought

Hope is the heartbeat of Advent — a reminder that no matter how dark the night, the light of Christ is dawning.

Family Activity

Create a “Hope Tree”. Cut paper stars and write on them ways you’ve seen God work in your lives. Hang them as ornaments to remind you that He always keeps His promises.
