WEEK TWO — PEACE: Trusting the Eternal Story

Introduction

In week two, we light the candle of peace — a peace that transcends understanding and anchors our hearts in God’s eternal story. Our peace is found in Christ, who assures us of eternal life and the security of being held in God’s hands forever.

Reflection

How can we trust in a God we can’t see? How can we rest when there is so much uncertainty around us? It’s a big ask, but here’s the truth: our Father created us, breathed life into us, and chose us before the foundation of the world for a relationship. Everything around us points to that truth.

So even when the world shakes, we can remain rooted in His peace. Hurts may come, disappointment may abound, but through it all, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

What does it profit a person to gain the whole world, yet lose their soul?

Mark 8:36

Jesus invites you to rest in Him and to discover peace that lasts forever.

Scripture Reading

John 14

Family Reflection

  • How can your family live for what truly lasts?
  • Where can you help others experience God’s peace this Christmas?

Food for Thought

When all is said and done, what kind of life will you leave behind? God promises eternal life if we take Him at His word of love, gift, and trust. This is the peace that Christmas brings — a life not anchored in possessions but in His presence. As we get ready for Christmas Day, may the peace of Christ dwell richly in your hearts and homes.

Family Activity

Do something that reflects the peace of God — bake treats for neighbours, write encouraging notes, or visit someone who may feel forgotten this season.
