The fear of the Lord is when you give God undignified worship.

With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

Psalm 119:10 (NKJV)

David says that when you seek God wholeheartedly, He will help you keep His commandments. How does this work? God is the one who invites us in and gives us the power to be able to do the things He asks us to do. We cannot achieve them with our own strength.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV)

This scripture lays out a principle that when you pursue the fear of the Lord (reverence of God), you begin to attain knowledge significantly.

When you have the Spirit of the Fear of God, you reverence His presence, awesomeness and power. The reverence we give to our Father makes it easy for us to fulfil Romans 12:1

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Romans 12:1 (NLT)

Reverence is one of the currencies we spend to get God’s attention to move in our lives. Reverence works concurrently with worship.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV)

Have you ever wondered how surrendering yourself to God can bring you wisdom, favour, and direction in life? By revering God and inviting His presence, we allow Him to rule and guide us towards our greatest potential. The Bible teaches us that the fear of God leads to honour, long life, riches, full assurance, and satisfaction.

In Psalm 119, David serves as a powerful example of this fear and obedience to God’s commandments. David wisely said, “In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy.” Therefore, we can trust that all of our needs will be met when we abide in the presence of God.

Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.

Psalm 119:38 (NKJV)

I believe that I can lead a meaningful and satisfying life by constantly striving for a strong relationship with God, treating Him with utmost reverence, and placing my unwavering trust in His promises. His divine guidance and steadfast support give me the strength and confidence to overcome any obstacle that comes my way.
